The article was written by Mr. Geoffery Lean, called “Oil: A global crisis”. This mainly talks about what happens in nowadays. All people face the same problem, which is that we have an oil crisis. Even though we have this kind of problem, Americans still attack Iraq in order to get more oil; however, it doesn’t work. The results just make the situation become worse. Although in the west countries, there is recession, in other countries such as China, Russia and other OPEC countries, their demand is only increasing very quickly, not slowing down at all. In China, even if the price goes very high, they still have lots of demand. Some people predict recession in the western countries will balance growth in the other countries. However, it won't happen in recent years.

Although I know it’s hard, I think the oil should be replaced by the other resources. We should develop alternative resources. Here are some reasons.

First of all, people will run out of this resource one day; we can’t wait until that day happens. We already know that there will be less and less fuel, however, for some developing countries such as China and Russia, these countries just need more. Although people are already trying to develop the use of corn to produce oil and still try use other resources to produce oil. However, it still requires time. Just like making a woman pregnant; it takes time to have a baby. It’s impossible to have a baby just after getting pregnant.

In addition, if we don’t have to worry about an oil crisis, wars will become less due to oil. When people have more fuel; they can do the thing they want; it will make life better. Everybody will be happy. They can just enjoy life and don’t need to worry about resources.

Finally but not least, when people use other resources, they can try to make the environment better. New resources can produce less damage to our environment. It can produces less CO2, reduce global warming, and so on.

In brief, most of our governments know their replacing resources is very important. The government should spend most of its money on alternative resources, not on war.
